This month Hide & Seek launches a new addition to its contemporary cowhide furniture range: luxurious cowhide benches. Following customer requests we have added this stylish yet functional bench to our popular range of ottomans, stools and console tables. Perfect at the end of a bed, under a window or in a hallway our cowhide benches serve as glamorous, comfortable and hardwearing perches. As well as being a beautiful, natural product, cowhide is virtually stainproof too – ideal for busy households!
Available in our standard size of 120cm x 35cm x 42cm (h), the Austin can also be made to measure in your choice of hide colour and dimensions. We offer a choice of leg styles: 1) Classic hairpin steel legs – for an understated industrial look. 2) Tapered oak splayed legs (with a choice of slipper feet in either polished brass or chrome) for a more retro feel. Either style will blend seamlessly with a range of looks, so whether you favour mid-century modern or classic country, a cowhide bench will feel right at home.
Pictured is our 'Austin' bench with tapered oak legs and brass slipper feet, £625. Our cowhide furntiure is all made in East London using traditional techniques and the finest ethically reared South American cowhides. Legs are manufactured in the UK.

Winter is almost over and it's time to start throwing off some layers and allowing a little sunshine into your home. The Hide & Seek SS16 Lookbook is here and it's heavily inspired by the US West Coast. We're thinking about sunshine and adventure, broadening horizons and embracing some laid-back, bohemian Californian style.
Spring is always about new beginnings – whether its going somewhere new, doing something new or finding something new. We'll help you bring that spirit into your home with our latest collections, based around 3 key looks
1. Desert Chic – this look is based around a pallete of warm sandy tones, (tan, ivory, peach and gold). Check out our new cowhide benches, with tapered oak legs and brass slipper feet for the perfect perch. Or our range of fabulous textiles: cushions in vintage taupe mud cloth and blonde hide; muted throws in blush, ivory and beige. White horn vases and concrete planters complete the look (and are perfect for cacti and succulents)!
2. Modern Tribal – our contemporary take on tribal includes handwoven Moroccan berber rugs; monochrome mud cloth cushions and organic sheepskins in dark blacks and browns. We've taken our incfluences from Morocco and Mali to create a collected, well-travelled look. Cowhide console tables in chestnut and brown keep things warm and stylish.
3. California Dreaming – for laid-back style with plenty of colour we've embraced vintage indigo cushions; handwoven frazada blankets from Peru and colourful kilim and boucherouite rugs. This look is all about layering the textiles and keeping things laid-back and liveable. What better way to welcome the spring?
We'll be showcasing our 'East End meets West Coast' style and launching the Hide & Seek Spring/Summer collection. With a focus on California dreaming, the range is colouful, collected and laid-back. We'll be launching a new lighting range, designed and handmade in East London, as well as bespoke cowhide ottomans, benches and consoles. Featuring vintage textiles from Africa, Asia and South America and premium natural materials including linen, hide, hemp and horn our pieces are stylish, curated and understated.
The Country Living Spring Fair is one of the busiest consumer shows of the season, with a focus on craftsmanship and small businesses and a host of things to browse and buy for your home, garden or wardrobe. So come along and meet us at the Business Design Centre, Islington. Book your tickets here quoting code EX16S41 for your exclusive Hide & Seek discount. We look forward to meeting you!
